Look 1:
One of the many wonders of couture is that a single piece can take months to create. For this Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture piece, Riccardo Tisci wanted to create a light dress with a feminine touch provided by pearls and cashmere. Due to the intricacy and difficulty of the task, the pearls took a total of 8 months to create. The detailed shot shows a clear rim around each of the pears. This is a result of the pearls being encapsulated inside of a crystal. The final product is a Cat’s Eye crystal with a pearl on the inside. To replicate the circular elements, the seamstresses at Givenchy created rosettes out of hand spun cashmere.
